DJI Inspire 2
The Inspire 1 was a revelation. It was the first drone for film production in the world to integrate not only an HD transmission system, but also a 360° gimbal and a 4K camera. The Zenmuse X5 and X5R cameras became an important tool for directors and filmmakers worldwide.
The DJI Inspire 2 combines the outstanding features of the previous model and improves them even further. An all-new image processing system captures footage in up to 5.2K AdobeCinemaDNG RAW and Apple ProRes. The copter accelerates to 80 km/h in just 5 seconds and reaches a top speed of up to 94 km/h. The maximum speed in descent is 9 m/s. For an aircraft of this size, this creates an unrivalled speed experience with fascinating agility. A dual battery system extends flight time up to 27 minutes (with an X4S), while self-heating technology allows safe flights even in low temperatures. FlightAutonomy has been completely redesigned for the Inspire 2 with bi-directional obstacle avoidance and redundant sensors. Improved intelligence, various intelligent flight modes (including Spotlight Pro) allow pilots to capture complex and dramatic shots. An improved video transmission system is now able to switch between dual frequency and dual channels. The Inspire 2 streams simultaneously with both an integrated FPV camera and the main camera, allowing for better coordination between pilot and cameraman.

Efficient workflow
The Inspire 2's creative workflow has been completely optimised and is now able to capture video in Adobe CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes. Other popular post-production formats are also available. In addition, the FAT32/exFAT * file system is supported, allowing you to quickly copy files directly from the CINESSD without the need for additional software.
Detection and Evasion
Forward and downward vision systems allow the Inspire 2 to detect obstacles up to 30 metres away. This ensures safe flight at speeds up to 54 km/h, with a controlled attitude angle of 25°. Upward-facing infrared sensors scan for obstacles up to 5 metres away, providing additional protection when flying in confined spaces. The obstacle detection system is active during normal flight, RTH and all intelligent flight modes. The sensors are core components of the DJIFlightAutonomy system, which enables the Inspire 2's intelligent features.
Spotlight Pro
Spotlight Pro is a powerful tracking mode that allows any pilot to capture complex and dramatic shots. The mode uses advanced visual algorithms to lock on to the target in flight, so no matter which direction the Inspire 2 is flying, the pilot is always able to capture incredible shots that would previously have required an additional cameraman. If the gimbal is about to reach its rotation limit, the Inspire 2 will rotate in that direction without affecting flight control or the shot to give the gimbal room to manoeuvre. The mode has two capture modes, Quick mode and Composition mode. InQuick mode, an object is selected to begin tracking. InComposition mode, the target and the tracking position are selected. When the target is in the preset position, simply press the shortcut to start tracking. The gimbal can be adjusted while shooting.Spotlight Pro is available in TapFly, Waypoint and Point-of-Interest.
Intelligent flight modes
In addition to Spotlight Pro, a number of other intelligent flight modes and recording modes are available. Obstacle avoidance has been greatly improved when using Point-of-Interest and Waypoint, making complex recording simple and repeatable. It is also available in QuickSpin, TapFly and ActiveTrack for even more challenging shots.
Intelligent return function
Forward and downward vision systems allow the Inspire 2 to generate a map of its flight path in real time. If the video transmission signal is lost and the Intelligent Return function is turned on, the Inspire 2 will fly back to the starting point using the original route. If it regains the signal, it will switch back to a straight line. As it returns, it uses the main camera to identify obstacles up to 200m ahead, allowing the Inspire 2 to find a safe route to the launch point. In addition, the Inspire 2 is now able to re-establish a connection even faster should it be lost.
Optimised transmission and control System
The latest DJI Lightbridge technology has an effective transmission range of up to 7km* and is capable of transmitting 1080p/720p video, as well as simultaneous pilot FPV transmission. Users can choose between 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz** frequencies to avoid interference.
Master and slave remote control
The latest Wirless HD image transmission technology sends video information from the master remote control to the slave remote control, and the two remotes can now operate together from up to 100 metres away without loss of image quality.
Transmission mode
Transmitters can broadcast directly from the Inspire 2 using the dedicated 1080i50 or 720p60 transmission signal. Broadcast live from the air directly to the TV by simply connecting the remote control to the satellite transmitter.
Extreme flight performance
A new propulsion system takes flight performance to a whole new level. The Inspire 2 flies at speeds of up to 94 km/h, descending at 9 m/s and ascending at 6 m/s. It can be brought up to speed in just 5 seconds. It can accelerate to 80 km/h in just 5 seconds, with a maximum attitude of 40°. The two control sticks are even more sensitively tuned, making delicate manoeuvres even easier. Additional power allows the Inspire 2 to fly in extreme conditions, even at 2500-5000 m above sea level (with optional propellers) and in temperatures as low as -20 °C, thanks to the self-heating Intelligent Flight Batteries.
Even more reliable
Overall reliability has been improved with dual redundant key modules such as IMU, compass and barometer. The Intelligent Flight Control System monitors all redundant systems and provides the pilot with accurate flight data.
The new obstacle detection system helps the Inspire 2 detect and avoid obstacles, minimising the risk of collision.
Dual batteries ensure absolute safety during flight; should one battery fail, the other will power the Inspire 2 long enough for a safe landing. At the same time, the Inspire 2's propulsion system has PWM signal redundancy, so if PWM signals are lost, transmission continues through the serial port.
The drive system has been tested for thousands of hours to ensure its reliability. In combination with the key sensors and dual batteries, the overall reliability of the flight has been significantly improved.
